The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) is committed to providing accurate and reliable information regarding insurance and related matters.

We are pleased to announce that we have recently enhanced our supervisory system, "TIRA – MIS," to accommodate a broader range of services beyond just motor insurance verification. With its increased capacity and seamless integration, the system now manages insurance data, validates both motor and property insurance, enables electronic submission of complaints (e-complaints), and has completely replaced paper stickers with electronic stickers (e-stickers). This upgrade ensures faster, more efficient services and strengthens industry supervision.

As a result, motor insurance customers will no longer receive paper stickers from insurance providers. Instead, they will be given an insurance cover note, policy, and an EFD receipt. Additionally, the TIRA-MIS is integrated with various government supervisory systems, including those of the Tanzania Police Force, Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Zanzibar Business and Property Registration Agency (ZBPRA), Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELA), National Identification Authority (NIDA), and other regulatory bodies in both mainland Tanzania and the Isles.

The Authority will continue to improve and upgrade the system to better meet customer needs and provide excellent service.
